Ashtanga Yoga is the eightfold path of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It is more vigorous than most other styles of Yoga. Ashtanga is the practice of Yoga that combines breath control and a flow of sequential postures. The breath is used to synchronize each movement. Ashtanga Yoga is 99% practice, 1% theory. -- K.
